3 – The Sound of Sandro

Sandro continues to spread positivity, this time by sharing playlists that allow listeners to immerse themselves in the Brand’s DNA. The first playlist compiled songs that Sandro’s designers listened to while creating the SS20 collection in the Brand’s Parisian studios

A new playlist is released every Monday (with 6 out so far!), available for listening on Spotify.
Check out the playlists here!

4 – SMCP 101

Two high school students from the French International School spent some time with our SMCP team members at the Hong Kong headquarters. As part of the summer curriculum for their school’s internship program, the students spent one week observing different departments around the officeincluding Architecture, Business Development, Merchandising, Office Administration, Retail Operations & Training Teams.

Creative Update

Sandro & Sandro Homme: Blooming Again

Love at first sight exists.
From flowery prints to strong colors and soft fabrics, let’s bring the sun everywhere!

Sandro and Sandro Homme are shining the spotlight on some of their exclusive Spring/Summer favorites.

Maje: Jet, Set and Match

This summer, Maje is presenting a capsule collection inspired by the photographs of Slim Aarons. A glittering jet set atmosphere with poolside parties.

It all started with a Slim Aarons photo. A small group of beautiful people chilling by a stunning turquoise-blue pool. The light and atmosphere exude California in the 70s. Judith Milgrom loved it… and the result is a postcard-style print on dresses, tops, bodysuits, oversized shirts and satin short jumpsuits. An exclusive eight-piece capsule collection that will immediately put you in the mood for a holiday and getting away from it all. You can already visualize yourself casually wearing them over your tanned skin, and luxuriating in all that glamour, small talk and those fruity cocktails.

Claudie Pierlot: Italian Romance

This capsule collection from Claudie Pierlot is a celebration of love. A splash of Italian style to suit every occasion.

In this modern love story, guests can dress to impress in a fuchsia jumpsuit embellished with an elegant bow. Decorated with Batik flowers and paisley patterns, Claudie Pierlot’s dazzling selection of dresses ranges from long and boho to short and bold. In terms of accessories, pearl earrings and gold leather strappy sandals or black mules with buckles offer a delicate finishing touch.

De Fursac: Full Summer

Blue skies, golden sun and turquoise water: every year the summer delights us with its range of colors. But with its short-sleeve shirts, cotton trousers and a swimsuit with prints that are as graphic as they are summery, De Fursac enables you to complete this melody of colors in your own way. Without relinquishing any of the pleasure.

Coffee Break with Anne Juliette

Business Analyst for Purchasing and Stocks - Sandro

Anne Juliette wears two hats, switching between them depending on what her work calls for. With one hat she oversees Sandro’s purchasing budget, and with the other she is in charge of stock valuation. Her title? Business Analyst for Purchasing and Stocks. Her mission? Make the link between finance & purchasing and manage inventory.

What I enjoy is working with many different types of people and having a transversal vision of the brand and the product cycle.

Anne Juliette is like a magician: she transforms the financial budget into a purchasing budget. In doing so, she helps Sandro’s buyers understand how to buy according to the season and the given KPIs (markdown target, average price of the collection, residual rates, etc.). She turns sales objectives into the number of pieces to buy for Europe.

But of course, once this work is done, she does not stop there! She also does management work that extends to Asia and North America. “During the season, I make budget revisions, so it’s important that buyers don’t commit too quickly and that there is room in the budget for any collection restocking. The goal is to commit a maximum of 85% of the budget at the beginning of the season and to leave a 15% margin for restocking.” During commercial operations, Anne Juliette also estimates how much stock will be left at the end of the season.

« As far as sustainability, we try to buy less and to buy better.  »

Anne Juliette has one more trick up her sleeve: she is also part of Sandro’s sustainability committee and the Group’s sustainability committee as well! She explains: This new challenge allows me to bring my work and my values together. It is important to subscribe to this approach because it is the right thing to do for our planet and for our employees, who are really environmentally conscience.”

« We are committed to the brand and to our people, not to the fashion industry. That is why we communicate very little about our approach.  »

You might be wondering what happens when you mix stock valuation and sustainability. Anne Juliette explains the result: “The objective is simply to decrease what’s left at the end of the season while still having enough product to supply our outlets. We try to dispose of our stock in the most environmentally responsible way possible.” She affirms and reassures us:

Our objective is to no longer destroy. We give a new life to our products through recycling or donation. It’s essential for us!

2 - Inauguration of a new kind of Maje boutique

On Friday June 5, Maje celebrated the opening of a new boutique in the heart of Paris at 350 rue Saint-Honoré, a stone’s throw from Maje’s ateliers by the Musée du Louvre.

The vision: celebrate youthful creation and highlight creative talents that matter to Judith Milgrom.

The result: a personal and unique setting, a sort of second Maison where Maje’s bold and offbeat ready-to-wear collections and feminine accessories can shine.

A space that mixes here and elsewhere with Parisian neoclassical geometric patterns and Mediterranean inspirations…

A space that plays on contrasts between angular and rounded shapes, rough textures and soft colors…

An environment that evokes a lifestyle, all in warm tones and natural materials, opting more for vintage furniture to encourage more responsible consumption, with pieces from renowned designers but also from emerging contemporary artists.

« This approach illustrates our more sustainable commitment to not only the store concept but also to the production and sourcing of our products.  »

Isabelle Guichot,
Maje CEO
