June 22
Magazine #06

At the halfway point of the year, we are proud to say that 2022 has been rich in development, emerging ideas, significant projects launched and innovations in progress.

June is also a key period for business: the summer sales. Stores, affiliates, corners & partners, it's up to you. You make the collections shine in the eyes of our customers!

May the summer feed you in motivation and creativity!

As a group founded and led by women, SMCP is deeply saddened by the recent decision of the US Supreme Court.

At SMCP, we strongly believe that everyone, regardless of where they live, must be free to make health decisions for themselves.

This is the reason why the Group is aiming to do what is necessary to cover costs for the US eligible employees who need to travel to seek healthcare services not offered in their state of residence.

SMCP stands with all women, as women’s rights are human rights.

3 – How does the Quality of Life at Work work at SMCP?

  • SMCP Global Services & Logistics

In a context of perpetual change in terms of organization, work methods and projects, it is essential on a daily basis to take care & to feel good and well surrounded in a friendly and warm environment as we know it at SMCP.

The QWL Week (Quality of Life at Work), which took place from June 20 to 24, was an opportunity to propose some activities and actions to the teams. The QWL is and remains an everyday subject for which we are all ambassadors.

On the program at SMCP, the week started with a free coffee, and continued on Tuesday with a concert in the hall and the opening of registrations for the Odyssea run. On Wednesday, employees enjoyed a moment of meditation, and on Thursday they savour fruit baskets and the week ended with a humorous conference organized by La School.

For our logistics sites, the week alternated between moments of sharing over breakfast, a food truck lunch or a snack prepared by employees, moments of relaxation over board games or even moments of competition during the foosball or darts tournament (to please the most competitive ? ) or a gardening workshop for those with a green thumb.

  • SANDRO

At SANDRO, teams enjoyed a massage, a surprise staff sale of SANDRO glasses, a terrarium workshop, a smoothie tasting and to finish the week, an MCQ on QWL!

  • Maje

Maje took part in the Run of Heroes on June 19 in the Saint Cloud park (near Paris, France). Each year, this run brings together more than 400 companies in a friendly and supportive atmosphere with the aim of supporting an association. Maje chose to support the association Un Cadeau Pour La Vie, which aims to improve the quality of life of sick children

  • Claudie Pierlot

At Claudie Pierlot, they enjoyed juice and detox tea tastings, yoga classes and meditation or sophrology incentives, moments of conviviality around board games, sharing a sweet moment around fruit baskets or a delicious ice cream, without forgetting the fun with a photo session dressed up behind the photobooth!

“Everything that is done with pleasure and desire improves our quality of life at work”.

  • Fursac

The QWL week takes place this week at Fursac, with a delay of one week due to the Fashion Week. On the program for this week: sweets with fruit and healthy snacks, a massage session, a yoga class given by Laura, the Collection Coordination Manager, a children’s afternoon with the arrival of employees’ children: 12 children carried out a survey in the offices; and to close the week, a blood donation!

Sustainability Culture

FAIRLY MADE® X SANDRO

SANDRO is committed to a more responsible and sustainable fashion, and is partnering with Fairly Made® to offer its customers detailed and transparent information on the traceability of its creations.

Fairly Made® is a French start-up with an independent mission, in charge of collecting information from all suppliers involved in all stages of the production chain of the SMCP group brands, processing this information and calculating a traceability score.

As of the Spring-Summer 2022 collection, via a QR code on the product label or directly on the product page of its website, SANDRO reveals in full transparency, the information relating to the suppliers involved in each stage of the production chain. From the origin of the raw materials, to the manufacturing and processing plants, to the kilometers traveled before arriving in the warehouse, the traceability sheet details these steps as well as the traceability grade attributed.

Initially available on a selection of pieces, SANDRO wants 100% of its collections to be traceable by 2025.

This joint project is part of a broader approach of the Group and our Brands. Indeed, for several seasons, SANDRO has strengthened its efforts to contribute to the transition towards a more responsible and sustainable fashion. In 2021, the French brand inaugurated SANDRO Seconde Main, a platform dedicated to the resale or purchase of pieces from past collections. The same year, a capsule of upcycled pajamas accompanied the launch of the SANDRO solidarity fund. In 2022, nearly 50% of the women’s and men’s collections are eco-responsible. On a daily basis, we act at each stage of our value chain to transform our model in order to preserve natural resources and ecosystems, limit our impact on global warming and improve the working conditions of our employees and subcontractors.

1 – SANDRO ON TOUR

SANDRO’s passion for music comes to life with this clubbing-inspired capsule for the FW22 pre-collection. Inspired by the clubbing spirit of the 90’s, the parisian studio has created strong and offbeat pieces, in a radically androgynous and colourful spirit. Strasses rub shoulders with oversized satin shirts, and accessories and shoes are adorned with shine. A capsule that welcomes summer and calls for music, making us want to enjoy the long summer nights and all the musical events of the season. Festivals, concerts, garden parties : SANDRO takes you on tour. #SANDROONTOUR

2 – SUMMER PARADISE – MAJE

There always comes a time, just before summer when sunbathing becomes very compelling, even necessary. We start dreaming, craving summer warmth, happiness, a sand coast on an azure sky. It’s vital, but not too serious.

The Summer Paradise of Maje is therefore imagined on a beach, with a laidback mood. Nothing to do but enjoy, seduce, and relax. In tones of orange, and materials to encourage the vibe.

The main print of this Summer Beach? Starfish and seashells. A large kimono that can be worn open or closed, a dress detailed with cut outs, shorts, and a cool and light blouse.

The delicate work of crochet finds its place: warm tones, floral patterns, a thinly veiled allusion to Californian beaches in the seventies. An oversized jacket, a short top, a bikini, and hat adopt this new vision of crochet, to choose between the total look or in scattered touches.

The accessories play with the codes of the beach but remain perfectly urban. The large raffia tote, the M Basket in crochet and the summery versions of the M reconcile chic and simplicity.

The message of this collection is printed on a loose t-shirt and expresses exactly what is on our mind: long live Summer Paradise!

MAJE X THE SURF LODGE

To support this capsule, Maje opened a pop-up boutique at The Surf Lodge at Montauk (NY). Available during five-day, the boutique offered the newest capsule collection, Summer Paradise. The space offers a vibrant experience for luxury customers out East.

3 – SUMMER GAMES – CLAUDIE PIERLOT

Dreaming big for summer.

We haven’t yet set foot on the land we’re longing for, but we’re already imagining our multiple outfits immortalised in our holiday photos. Our Claudie Pierlot suitcase includes blouses, dresses and fresh prints to blend in with the sunny landscapes of our dream summer. Not to mention our holiday journal that we take everywhere.

AROUND THE WORLD

From the white walls of the Cyclades and the Indonesian coast, to Iberian hospitality… We can already imagine ourselves travelling around the world, with the sun as our only guide. Mellow temperatures and golden light: we sunbathe in a flowing white dress with a bucket hat on our head. We enjoy a corner in the shade in a little floral dress. Geometric patterns and pastel shades add a touch of chic to our lounge look.

ON A SUNNY AFTERNOON

Halfway between a travel journal and a playbook, the Cahier Claudie celebrates summer. At home, on the train and on the beach: it goes with us during the hottest months of the year. Distinctly regressive, but always elegant — that’s something that’s in our DNA. Slip it into your XXL basket bag, with some sun accessories (sunglasses and sun cream included). Now it’s your turn.

Every Monday from June 13rd to July 11th, you can find a contest on the Instagram account @claudiepierlot, using the traditional holiday notebook games but in a Claudie version. A total of 5 games – 5 winners! The prizes range from a crochet bob to the choice of a bag from the new collection.

4 – FURSAC – PARIS FASHION WEEK PRESENTATION

Fursac summer 2023, sees Gauthier Borsarello draw on the codes he holds dearest.

The collection was unveiled at La Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, in Paris. The glass monoliths and the clean lines of the rails made especially for the occasion punctuate the minimal and refined interior.

The stripped back environment speaks of the Fursac man: impertinent and elegant, his natural panache and the obvious pleasure he takes in dressing both for himself and the delight of others. Typically French. This season sees Fursac’s need for speed and warmth come to the surface, reinterpreting outfits normally reserved for racing drivers and offshore pilots.
