1 – SANDRO X Yuko Nishikawa: an artistic, eco-friendly and charitable endeavour

For the founder and creative directors of SANDRO, art is an inexhaustible source of inspiration and field of expression. For the Spring / Summer 2021 Collection, SANDRO invites Yuko Nishikawa : the Japanese artist and ceramicist based in New York has rendered her world in recycled paper mache and designed an array of mobiles, brought to life at select North America Sandro boutiques* and store windows worldwide.
*Available at Sandro Prince Street, Sandro at Aventura, and Sandro at South Coast Plaza.

This artistic collaboration is the first of its kind for SANDRO, which is offering these sculptures for sale from 22 April 2021, in partnership with selected websites specialising in art and SANDRO-Paris.com

After the sale, all profits will be donated to an international NGO committed to environmental conservation.

“Beans, Pinecones, Umbrellas is my expression of joy through mobiles, whose wonky colourful dots sway and giggle as we walk and stir the air around them.”

2 – Maje launches its Bow Bag to reinvent our Summer accessory!

This season, the spirit of Maje lets you play with all your facets, all your identities, letting you be a little different but not quite something other. In this spirit of liberation, for Spring Summer 2021 Maje has created their new bag: the Bow Bag.

An ode to versatility, a bag of many guises, with a bow that can be tied and untied, highlighting and embracing different forms, and pairing beautifully with prêt-à-porter. You can wear it any way you like, under the arm, very chic, or cool and loose over the shoulder. Or even around the waist. And there’s nothing to stop you inventing other ways of wearing it, that’s the spirit of the bow-bag.

The bow itself is something to have fun with. Each bag is sold with a tutorial explaining how to create a sliding knot, a double knot (in our opinion the most fashionable) and a coil knot. There really are no limits to the bows you will be able to create. So your own imagination and personality will be part of creating a bag that is not quite the same but not entirely different every day.

3 – The Ode to Freedom of Claudie Pierlot

This summer, Claudie Pierlot’s playlist speaks to us like never before. With the volume turned all the way up, we slide on our sandals and go for a walk in the sun. Below our feet, we feel the sand of the beach, the cobblestones of a village, or the asphalt of the city. Our mind is made up: this summer is all about breaking our routine and embracing FREEDOM.

THE SUMMER OF ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN

4 – The rock accessory of the 60s by De Fursac: the Chelsea boots

A piece of character, De Fursac’s Chelsea boots are inspired by the style of the big names in rock from the 1960s. Made in Portugal from Spazzolato calfskin, slightly glossy and easy to care for, they are crafted using the traditional Goodyear method.

6 – De Fursac gathers its store managers!

The Seminar is an awaited meeting for the store managers. De Fursac wanted to make this meeting a moment of exchange and conviviality around presentations and workshops.

The objective was to take stock of the past season, to announce the challenges and priorities of the new one and to present the Spring / Summer 2021 collection. Above all, it was an opportunity to exchange ideas and to offer a meaningful moment to the participants.

7 – Fursac Musique invites Sam Knee for its new playlist!

Sam Knee has been utterly immersed with music and the counterculture since his 70’s bohemian childhood amidst anarchic Essex seaside suburbia and has spent the last 40 years dealing and dabbling in the vintage clothing and 2nd hand record underground utopias.

An author of 5 books focusing on minutiae details of lesser plundered youth subcultural music/fashion scenes of the late 20th century, and currently composing the completely revised edition of cult UK 80’s indie scene bible, A Scene In Between (a slight return).

Sam has trawled thru the disorganized chaos of his sprawling record collection and curated an exclusive heady mix for Fursac spanning the golden post punk and indie scene era of 79-88.

Be part of the scene not part of the scenery!

Sustainability Culture

1 – SMCP is committed to the Global Compact!

The SMCP Group has decided to join the UN Global Compact. This approach fits perfectly with our desire to become increasingly involved in initiatives that reflect our values, our actions and our Sustainability strategy.

What is the Global Compact? It is an initiative that aims to bring together companies and non-profit organizations around issues related to Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development. The Global Compact offers a framework of voluntary commitment, built on 10 principles complying with human rights, labor law, environment, and anti-corruption.

It has also been appointed by the UN to support the implementation of the 2030 UN Agenda and to help the economic sector to take better ownership of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Group and Brands are delighted with this important step.

We invite you to follow our Sustainability initiatives throughout the year in this new section!

2 – SMCP Supplier Code of Conduct

The SMCP Group and its Brands have always sought to build long-term relationships with their suppliers. These relationships are based on mutual respect and common values.

We expect them to be fully in line with the Group’s fundamental values in terms of ethics, social or societal responsibility and environmental protection. These values are formalised in a supplier code of conduct that you can find on the Ethics & Sustainability page of the SMCP website.
