April 20
Special Edition

As we head into the spring season, we are mindful of the difficult circumstances that many are facing today. For this edition of SMCP Magazine, we would like to offer you all a bit of positivity by sharing some of the activities undertaken by our team members during this time.

We are proud to be a part of the collective effort against Covid-19. SMCP Group and its brands have been mobilizing for several weeks to support health players and vulnerable populations. In the coming weeks, the Group will donate 50,000 surgical masks to home care companies operating in France.

We hope that you are all staying healthy and safe!

Before we begin, we’d like to ask you all a question: how are you?

Feel free to fill out this questionnaire and let us know!

Now for an overview of our Brands’ initiatives…

1

Sandro stands together

1 – Leftover fabric put to good use

At Sandro, fabric scraps from previous collections will be used to make 10,000 reusable face masks.

These face masks will be distributed to hospitals, nursing homes, and organizations for the disabled in France and the USA to help non-medical personnel

2 – Family Breakfast

As part of their commitment to thank and support medical teams around the world, Sandro will be delivering breakfast to staff at various hospitals in Europe and the United States every Friday for the duration of the crisis.

Sandro’s Family Breakfast has already been delivered to Marañón, Doce de Octubre, and La Paz hospitals in Madrid, as well as to the Robert Ballanger Hospital in Alunay-sous-Bois, near Paris. Hospitals in London and New York also recently received breakfast and will be followed by hospitals in Berlin and Los Angeles.

3 – Take Care of Our People

During this quarantine, Sandro wishes more than ever to stay connected to its community. One way they are doing this is by giving people a voice on social media.

Sandro asked Instagram users to share the views from their windows, allowing the community to take a virtual journey.

4 – Stand Together T-Shirt

In order to support the collective effort, Sandro created a t-shirt whose profits will be donated entirely to the Red Cross. To allow everyone to take part in this initiative, the community was invited to choose their preferred design on Sandro’s Instagram page.

Maje helps us dream tomorrow

1 – Masks for the community

Working with a French factory that manufactures FFP1 face masks, Maje ordered 12,000 masks to be sent to the Ile-De-France Regional Health Agency, who will then distribute them to nursing homes, schools, and law enforcement agencies.

2 – Supporting others

Thanks to the internal solidarity fund created at the beginning of April, Maje has been able to carry out two main projects.

The Brand is renewing their partnership with Un Cadeau Pour La Vie, a French organization that offers gifts to hospitalized children. Several dozen gifts will be offered to children in order to bring happiness and help them face the long weeks to come deprived of visitors.

The French cosmetics brand Absolution has joined the solidarity initiative and, thanks to internal donations, Maje will deliver 600 face and hand care products to healthcare personnel.

3 – Upcycling for a worthy cause

Repurposing its own scrap fabrics, Maje was able to produce 12,000 reusable surgical hair caps in a French factory. They will be sent directly to several European hospitals.

4 – Clothing Donations

More than 1,000 Maje pieces were given to various French, Italian, and Spanish charitable organizations in order to make the daily lives of healthcare personnel and others in need easier.

Pictured below are some of the recipients: nurses from Patient and Family Care, a team created specifically for the COVID-19 pandemic, at Madrid’s Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón

The department, in collaboration with “Couturières du 23” (a network of volunteer seamstresses), will then be able to manufacture masks and gowns which will be distributed to health personnel and nursing homes as well as to home help services in the department.

2 – Fashion at home

SMCP Global Services keeps in touch

1 – SMCP @ Home

With a little help from Yammer, the SMCP Global Services team is staying connected with each other.

Every week, the team shares topics that get people talking. Whether it be sharing their own quarantine to-do list or screen shots from a virtual get-together, employees are finding creative ways to stay in touch and are sharing tips (for adults and kids!) on how to keep busy from the comfort of home.

They have created this project to stay in touch with each other during this so particular period…

This aims to be fun, off the wall, sharing. It’s between us so don’t be shy, you can join us here!

SMCP Asia thinks of its staff

1 – Staying healthy

SMCP Asia has given all ROA staff in the Office and Points of Sale a health kit to support them during the return to work. The kit included a thank you note, hand sanitizer, and vitamin C supplements. Staff were quick to express their appreciation for the company’s caring gesture!

2 – Staying informed

ISOS was invited to conduct an online medical training for all staff via ZOOM.

3 – Staying together

SMCP Asia had a wonderful message to share with their colleagues around the world. Read what they said below:

“Stronger Together” has became a global slogan to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.  We would like to let you know you are not alone.  Despite we are in different continents, with different cultural background speaking different languages, our thoughts are with all SMCP co-workers worldwide. We hope the 2,000 lucky stars that are made by co-workers from Hong Kong and Shanghai will bring you brightness in your everyday life!  Stay strong and be positive!

SMCP North America contributes locally

As part of its larger donation effort, Sandro also donated 3,000 face masks to NYU Langone Medical Center.

2 – Sandro’s Family Breakfast: NYC Edition

On Friday, April 10th, the Sandro team had breakfast delivered from Dominique Ansel Bakery to NYU Langone Medical Center in New York. Breakfast on May 1st at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles is next!

3 – A joint effort with City Harvest

Maje is launching their partnership with City Harvest, a New York City based organization that provides meals to families in need and provides lunches for children who rely on school for meals.

To spread hope during the COVID-19 crisis, the Brand is supporting their Draw Hope to Drive Hope Campaign. To join, simply print out and color in the Maje x City Harvest illustration and then share it on social media while tagging @Majeparis #TakeCare @cityharvestnyc #WeAreCityHarvest

4 – Helping Dress for Success

Maje will also work with Dress for Success, a charity that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools that help them to thrive in work and in life. The Brand will donate to the local NYC chapter so that, once the economy gains momentum, women will feel encouraged to interview and pursue their professional goals.
